PHOTOS: A home suffers extensive damage after a fire Friday morning in Sparta. Fire Chief Mike Arnold said the call came in just before 7 a.m. for the fire at 406 North Court Street. Heavy smoke and fire was coming from the back of the house and roof as crews arrived. Chief Arnold said it took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. They also had to deal with multiple additions to the home he said. No one was home at the time. Chief Arnold said that they have an area where the fire started but don't have a cause yet as they continue their investigation. Crews spent most of the morning at the scene.
