VIDEO: Western Wisconsin first responders are grieving one of their own.
James Shearer, who was killed in a tragic seven-vehicle crash on I-94 earlier this week, was not only a member of the Hammond community — he was a long-time member of United Fire and Rescue.
According to a Facebook post from the group, James joined in 2005. He hung up his helmet last fall to spend more time with family and friends.
The post went on to say "James will always be remembered as a man of determination, a worker, and someone fellow firefighters could turn too."
