VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Onalaska Fire Department responded to a garage fire on Vilas Street Monday afternoon. According to the Onalaska Fire Chief Pete Fletty, the fire started shortly after noon and appeared to have started in the garage. The Holmen Fire Department also responded to the call as a mutual aid request. No one was injured in the fire and there were no reports of pets in the house. Fletty said due to the quick response from both department, the outcome was relatively positive. "I think this is a very positive outcome considering we had smoke and fire showing," Fletty said. "The garage was almost fully engulfed as the fire was on the West side of the property. Fire was starting to impinge on the house itself but our crews made a fantastic stop and limited damage - most of the damage to the garage."
