Detective George A. Schmidling and other fallen Waukesha service members were honored on Friday at the City of Waukesha’s Public Safety Memorial dedication. The dedication was held at 11 a.m. at Waukesha City Hall in front of the Public Safety Memorial plaque. Various members of the Waukesha Police and Fire departments spoke, as well as Mayor Shawn Reilly, retired City of Pewaukee Police Chief Gary Bach, and Jeff and Cheryl Sment of Interstate Sealant and Concrete.
The memorial plaque specifically honors five fallen service members from Waukesha’s police and fire departments.
