VIDEO: The Pizza Ranch restaurant in Verona will remain closed until further notice following a significant fire that started in the kitchen on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the blaze at the Pizza Ranch, located at 100 Keenan Ct, shortly after 4 p.m. Several fire departments rushed to the scene to battle fire and remained on the scene for several hours.
Nicholas Seay, who was near the restaurant, told 27 News that the smell of smoke and the sight of billowing clouds alerted him to the severity of the situation. Seay promptly launched his drone to capture footage of the fire.
"My son and I were at the county park and we saw smoke in the area," said Seay. "It was billowing straight up, and it was too close and at that point, the wind was blowing the smoke towards our direction."
