A man and a woman became trapped on the ice on the east side of Lake Winnebago Wednesday morning. Stockbridge Fire Chief Mike Funk says a call to rescuers came at 8:53 a.m. Funk said the Stockbridge Fire & Rescue and Town of Calumet Fire Department responded and rescued them shortly after 10 a.m. without deploying any boats. The two weren’t injured. Chief Funk didn’t know how old they were or their names. Our crew on the scene says the area appears to be mostly open water.
