The Cedarburg Fire Department will host a movie event at the Rivoli Theatre Saturday, March 9 to educate residents about its referendum that will be on the spring ballot. The event will be free to the public from noon to 2:30 p.m. The movie playing will be "Odd Hours, No Pay, Cool Hat," a documentary film that depicts the challenges facing volunteer fire departments across the country. The movie run time is one hour and 30 minutes. Following the movie, Fire Chief Jeff Vahsholtz will hold a Q&A for the audience to ask questions relevant to the Fire/EMS service in Cedarburg. CFD equipment will also be on display outside. "The event will be an opportunity for residents of the city and town of Cedarburg to get a look at a day in the life of a volunteer firefighter and/or EMT, learn about the challenges the volunteer fire service faces, and ask questions about our Fire/EMS services in Cedarburg," Vahsholtz said.
