VIDEO/PHOTOS: The operator of a telescopic handler used to plow snow is uninjured after the heavy equipment tipped over the side of a parking ramp. The Madison Fire Department and its Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) responded to 4822 Madison Yards Way for a high-angle rescue. The operator of the telehandler was attempting to dump a load of snow over the side of the parking ramp, from the uppermost level, when the equipment tipped off-balance and flipped over side of the ramp. The operator was able to climb out of a rear window and return to safety prior to MFD's arrival. Although shaken up by the incident, the operator was not injured and did not require EMS. The MFD HURT secured the telehandler to hold it in place until additional resources could respond.
