VIDEO: History was made in Superior this week as the first all-female firefighting crew began working together to serve the community.
Captain Suzi Olson and firefighters Abby Dolsen and Breena Kolquist worked their first 48-hour shift together Tuesday.
This marked the first time in Superior Fire Department (SFD) history a crew of all women served the community.
Dolsen and Kolquist have worked at the station for less than a year but have looked up to Olson before starting at the department.
Captain Olson has worked at the SFD for 22 years. She never thought this would happen and only hopes to inspire others.
”It would just be really neat to have girls in our community be able to see the three of us and be able to say, ‘Wow, they can do it, I can do it,’” said Olson.
