Crews battle downtown Tomah fire for nine hours

VIDEOS/PHOTOS: Firefighters from the Tomah Fire Department and several other departments spent nearly nine hours to get a fire in downtown Tomah under control on Friday evening. Tomah Fire Chief Tim Adler said they were called to the fire which began at 1102 Superior Avenue. In a Facebook post, he said the first crews arriving could see that the fire was growing quickly. He said that there were some reports of a possible explosion as well. Due to what he said were the nature of the fire and the types of buildings, other departments began being called in to assist Tomah Fire. Fort McCoy Fire was dispatched and later the Oakdale and Town of Lincoln departments also called to provide equipment and manpower.
