Authorities in Grand Chute say the area’s fire department has been approved to begin offering ambulance services to the community.
According to a release from the Grand Chute Fire Department, the Grand Chute Town Board approved unanimously to authorize the Advance Life Support ambulance transport service implementation plan set forth by Fire Chief Steve Denzien.
Over the next ten months, Officials say three ambulances, along with some additional equipment, will be added to the Grant Chute Fire Department’s fleet for paramedic-level transport services.
Two out of the three ambulances are said to serve as primary response units with the third ambulance being a reserve.
Come the fall, officials say six firefighters/paramedics will be hired bringing the total number of staff at the Grand Chute Fire Department to 42 people.
