The Kenosha City Council Public Safety and Welfare Committee voted unanimously Monday evening to approve renovations for a fire station.
Members of the committee voted to recommend the City Council award a contract to Rasch Construction & Engineering, of Kenosha, for work on Fire Station No. 7, 9700 52nd St.
The contact is for $625,800 plus $93,800 in contingency for a total of $719,600.
This project would consist of removal and replacement of the existing windows, some of the exterior doors, as well as some of the exterior façade. The interior framing of the exterior wall would also be removed and replaced.
Work is projected to begin in the spring and last until September, weather permitting.
Fire Station No. 7 is on the west side of the city just outside the Kenosha Regional Airport, 9900 52nd St.
