VIDEO: Waukesha first responders had to use a saw to free a man's hand stuck in a snowblower. It happened at a home near Greenfield and Racine avenues at the height of Tuesday's storm.
"He's 34 years of age. Got his hand stuck in a snowblower," someone can be heard saying over the dispatch radio. "Three fingers are definitely stuck in there. He can't feel any bleeding. He can't see any bleeding. The machine is turned off."
As firefighters arrived on the scene, Waukesha Fire's Division Chief Pat Rettler said they turned to tools to aid in the rescue.
"They attempted some disassembly of the machine, worked for about 30 minutes unsuccessfully," he said. "Then they upgraded to utilizing the saw... to be able to free the person's hand."
