VIDEO: Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded to a house fire Tuesday morning on Tompkins St. A photo shared on social media showed flames coming through a front window and door and heavy smoke billowing from the roof and upper-story windows of the home on the 300 block of Tompkins. The fire department said crews got a call around 9:12 a.m. Tuesday for the fire. When crews arrived at the scene, fire companies encountered heavy fire conditions from the front and rear of the single-family home. Fond du Lac Fire Rescue said the fire took about 3 hours to completely control, as many void spaces with fire were difficult to extinguish. There was extensive damage to the house. While people were inside the home at the time of the fire, everyone inside was able to get out safely and no one was hurt.
