VIDEO: One person was badly burned and taken to the hospital following a structure fire near 71st Street and Orchard Street in West Allis on Jan. 28, according to the West Allis Fire Department. The fire department says they were called around 9:28 p.m. The fire was on the second floor of the two-story building. The fire was put out in about 10 minutes. Three other residents made it out safely, according to the fire department. Animals were also rescued, but the fire department doesn't know their current condition. The residents won't be able to return to the building tonight. The Red Cross is assisting them. The fire department says it doesn't appear that there were working smoke detectors. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
