Two people were taken to a hospital following a fire near Layton Boulevard and Evergreen Lane by the Mitchell Park Domes, according to the Milwaukee Fire Department. The fire department was dispatched around 5:30 p.m. The fire department said the scene of the fire appeared to be some type of homeless encampment. Katelyn Proctor-Carrington and her son were walking underneath the bridge when they eventually saw the fire. "I heard men screaming and then someone roll out of the fire down the hill under the bridge," said Proctor-Carrington. "I yelled to him that I was calling the paramedics. It looked like they were trying to cook something and the fire just got out of control. They tried to put themselves out by rolling down the hill but some of them took a little too long and those were the ones who were taken away immediately by the paramedics."
