The Beaver Dam Fire Department estimates about 30 to 50 gallons of chemical leaked from a delivery truck on Friday. On Friday, March 1 at about 3:05 p.m., the Beaver Dam Fire Department was dispatched by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office to the intersection of South Center Street and West Mill Street in the City of Beaver Dam. Officials say the report initially said a delivery truck had a container inside the truck leaking Nitric Acid. Beaver Dam Fire units reported to the scene and requested the Dodge County Hazmat Team while heading towards the site. Officials say that when firefighters arrived, they found a container turned over on its side inside the delivery truck. The chemical was leaking slowly from the container’s cap and dripping out of the truck along the curb. Officials identified the chemical to be highly corrosive and acidic.
