The Beaver Dam Fire Department is highlighting the promotion of one of their own. Firefighter Dave Schoenberger was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and began his new role on February 21st. Schoenberger began his fire service career serving alongside his father as a paid-on-call firefighter with the Department in 1995. Fire Chief Michael Wesle says Schoenberger is one of a few of their paid-on-call members who is a qualified motor pump operator. He also has long served as a mentor to probationary firefighters and sits on the Strategic Planning, Truck Replacement, and Engine Replacement Committees. Schoenberger is a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering and works as project engineer and manager. A swearing in ceremony will be held at the Beaver Dam Fire Department in fall of 2024.
