Sun Prairie Fire crews and EMS responded to a fire Saturday night.
According to a news release, a fire was reported in a home on the 700 block of Edgemore Drive near Effingham Way around 7:40 p.m.
Battalion Chief Christopher Reese says the first crews reported smoke on the 2nd floor, and confirmed no one was in the house.
He says due to a quick response, the fire was contained to a bathroom.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The damage to the home is estimated at about $20,000.
Battalion Chief Reese included a safety message in the release: “When the homeowner found the fire, she immediately closed the door of the fire room. Closed doors can reduce fire growth, limit damage to your home, keep temperatures down, and can even save your life if you become trapped. She did a great job and helped contain the fire to the bathroom.”
