Embers that were leftover from a weekend controlled burn led to a grass fire Monday that burned several acres near Mount Horeb. The fire was reported around 1 p.m. along County F in the Town of Blue Mounds. Mount Horeb Fire Chief Jenny Minter says there was a controlled burn in this area on Sunday. She says there were still some embers in a pile of logs and the wind spread those embers onto an area of grass that was not part of the original controlled burn. Minter says about five acres burned. Crews had the fire out in about 20 minutes. No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.
