VIDEO: A new fire station is now open in the township of Willard in Rusk County. In 2023, the Sheldon Fire Protection District came to an agreement with the township to build a new fire station at the Willard Town Hall. Construction on the new two-bay building was completed late last year and became operational on March 1. The Willard station will not replace the main station in the village of Sheldon, but serve as a substation with trucks responding to every emergency call within the Sheldon Fire Protection District.
