A brief fire was extinguished at Wesley United Methodist Church in Wausau Tuesday by Wausau Fire Department. An ambulance was on scene of the fire and our News 9 crew on scene witnessed a firefighter sustain an apparent injury while putting out the fire. The firefighter was transported by the ambulance. Wausau firefighters were called to Wesley United Methodist for visible smoke around 4 p.m. They were able to find the source and contain the fire in less than an hour. A Wausau battalion chief said the fire was believed to be caused by an electrical issue.
