The Elkin's fire department responded to a fire at a home off of Wilson Lane at about 8:00 p.m. Friday. According to the Elkins fire chief the fire was mostly contained to the kitchen and it is unknown yet if the home will be a total loss. One person was transported by ambulance to the Davis Medical Center. One pet was also sent to a veterinary and it's condition is unknown at this time. The Fire Marshall's office has been alerted.
