PHOTO: Seven fire departments responded to a blaze in Jackson County Thursday that injured two neighbors, destroyed a home and a barn and burned four acres. Two neighbors – a father and son - who tried to rescue a dog from the home, located on Parkersburg Road in the community of Lockhart near Medina, suffered burns, said Jason Baltic, chief of the Silverton Volunteer Fire Department and deputy state fire marshal. Baltic said the blaze started about 5 p.m. in the residence and then spread to the woods and the barn. The woman who lives at the residence was not home, and the two neighbors tried to save a dog in the house, but the animal died. The conditions of the father and son were not immediately available.
