First responders from seven agencies worked together to quickly knock down a fire late Monday at a block of townhomes in Shinnston. "Everybody worked phenomenally together, made a great stop on it," said Donnie Lindsey, assistant fire chief for the Shinnston Volunteer Fire Department. The occupants, who rent from an area woman, will be able to return to their homes "with a little bit of rebuilding," he added. Firefighters from Shinnston, Lumberport, Bridgeport, Spelter and Worthington, as well as the Harrison EMS and Shinnston Police, came together to battle the blaze. One individual was evacuated successfully from the townhome where the fire started, two more in the townhome directly next door, and another individual was evacuated from the third townhome, Lindsey said. No firefighters were injured, either, the assistant chief said.
