A brush fire response on Wednesday sent two firefighters to the hospital, the Point Pleasant Fire Department posted on social media. According to the department, one firefighter was taken Rivers Health where he was treated and released. Another was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital. He is also expected to make a full recovery. Both firefighters were overcome by heat and smoke while fighting a brush fire on Redmond Ridge, the department said. Facebook post: We are thanking the Good Lord this evening as two of our young Firefighters were taken from the scene of a brush fire on Redmond Ridge by ambulance to area hospitals. One of the young men was treated and released at Rivers Health and the other is still being treated at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Fighting any fire can be dangerous but in today’s case fighting a brush fire in very windy conditions proved to cause medical emergencies as they were overcome by heat and smoke.
