A family in Hector was able to escape their burning home without injury Saturday afternoon.
It happened in the 6300 block of Old Highway 27 just before 2 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they learned people inside the home had just escaped, according to River Valley Now.
Due to the strength of the fire, firefighters largely worked to protect nearby buildings and vehicles.
The home is a total loss.
Fire officials on scene determined the cause of the fire was a propane cook stove, according to River Valley Now.
The American Red Cross is helping the family who lost their home.
