The city of Bentonville has six fire stations and will break ground on a seventh Friday afternoon. The new station will be located at 4508 SW Prime Avenue - near the two Walmart distribution centers on SW Regional Airport Boulevard. Bentonville Fire Chief Brent Boydston says the new facility will cover the 2,000,000 sq feet of nearby warehouses and several new subdivisions that have sprung up in that part of the city.
"The city has always promoted public safety and this is protecting the citizens of Bentonville and their investments that they have inside the city,” Boydston said. The 2.5-million dollar facility will take 9-10 months to build. Clinard Construction and Jackson Brown Palculict Architects will oversee the project. The nearly 9,500 sq ft. station will feature 3 drive thru bays and an additional washing station. It will look much like Fire Station 6 located on SW I street.
