Members of the Gravette Fire Department responded to a wreck on Arkansas Highway 59, north of Gravette, on Monday, July 13. The wreck involved a tractor-trailer and a car that was being towed by another vehicle with a tow strap. Traffic was halted for almost an hour while the collision site was cleared. "Though the accident looked bad, there were no injuries reported," according to Gravette's fire chief, David Orr. Gravette firefighters also were called to a fire on Spring Street in Sulphur Springs Saturday, July 18. The fire was in an apartment complex across the street from the fire station. Fire departments from Gravette, Maysville and Sulphur Springs all responded and, upon arrival, found heavy smoke coming from the end unit. A primary search was completed and all other apartment units were evacuated. Then entry was made and the fire was extinguished. The damage was limited to one room and its contents.
