The Jonesboro Fire Department is committed to educating the public about the importance of fire safety.
Unfortunately, every year, people lose their lives because they are unable to escape a house fire or are not aware of the risks associated with it.
Therefore, the Jonesboro Fire Department has taken it upon itself to educate the public of all ages on what to do to prevent a fire from occurring.
“One of the things we tell them is to make sure they have a working smoke detector in their house and that they sleep with the bedroom doors closed now, those are two of the biggest things that you could do to be fire safe at home,” says Fire Marshal John White.
Marshal White recommends some simple, yet effective measures that can be taken to ensure fire safety at home.
