PHOTOS: Smokey Bear is spending his 75th birthday by embarking on a week-long adventure exploring some unique areas in Idaho. Many of the sites are part of the Bureau of Land Management's National Landscape Conservation system, which serves to protect and conserve special places on public lands. There are a lot of recreational opportunities available in Idaho for all ages and interests. The BLM encourages people to get out and explore the outdoors. You can follow Smokey Bear along this week as he takes a journey to a different location. On Sunday, Smokey stopped by the Visitor Information Center to get maps and pamphlets that will be helpful throughout his journey. Smokey also stopped by the Hulls Gulch Recreation Trail in the Boise foothills for a quick hike.
