PHOTO: Firefighters had no sooner extinguished a fire that gutted a well-known bar here on Saturday when they were dispatched to a raging house fire. Both the 5 Mile Inn, Bar and Cafe in the 4800 block of Yellowstone Avenue as well as the single-story house in the 200 block of Parrish Lane were destroyed in the unrelated fires, the Chubbuck Fire Department said. There were no injuries to people during the blazes, but four pets died in the house fire. The Chubbuck Fire Department miraculously kept both fires from spreading to adjacent homes and businesses. Chubbuck Fire Chief Merlin Miller said on Saturday evening following both fires that he was very proud of his firefighters' response to the blazes. Chubbuck fire officials said they believe the fires were accidental in nature but both remain under investigation.
