A 7-year-old boy was severely injured Wednesday following a dog attack at his home in Rigby. Emergency responders were called to the home at about 7:15 p.m., according to Central Fire District Chief Carl Anderson. Anderson told EastIdahoNews.com the boy was playing in his yard when the family’s dog attacked him. No specifics have been released about the boy’s condition, but Anderson confirmed the boy had serious injuries on multiple parts of his body. “Once the ambulance arrived, the patient was quickly loaded and immediately sent to the hospital,” Anderson says. After arriving at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, an air ambulance transported the boy to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. Anderson says there has been an increasing number of reported dog bites during the COVID-19 pandemic while people have been more confined to their homes.
