PHOTO: Through the Orofino Fire Department, high school students aged 16-18 have the opportunity to participate in the cadet firefighter program to learn to fight fire, but most importantly they learn how to help their community. This year, 3 cadets, who are all seniors at Orofino Jr/Sr High School were honored and awarded with First Responder cords signifying the long hours of hard work that these cadets have put in learning how to safely fight fires and better their community. These cadets have worked hard helping with local fundraisers, most recently the senior center breakfast, as well as, helping with community outreach programs, like school health fairs.
