A man was found dead after volunteer firefighters extinguished a house fire near Potlach early Saturday morning. The Latah County Sheriff’s Office reports that crews were called to the blaze at a home on U.S. Highway 95 North of the Potlatch “Y” shortly after 5:00 a.m. Firefighters found a deceased adult male inside the home. The cause of the fire and the death are under investigation. The name of the man who died is not being released at this time. The Latah County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating. Sheriff’s Office Captain Shane Anderson says there is no evidence at this time linking this Potlatch area fire to a house fire in Troy late last month. Volunteer firefighters also found a deceased male inside the Troy home after putting out that fire.
