Structure Fire In Lewiston Causes $200,000 In Damages, Cause Under Investigation

At 5:49 p.m. April 9, 2024, the Lewiston Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire in the area of the 3700 block of 21st ST East. The first arriving Engine located the fire at 2123 Ripon Ave and arrived 3 minutes after dispatch. No one was home at the time of the fire. Lewiston firefighters were able to enter the structure and extinguish the fire however the structure was under construction and sustained significant damage. Damage to the structure and contents are estimated at $200,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Lewiston responded with 3 Engines, 3 medic units, a Command Unit, 3 chief officers, and 2 members of the fire investigation team. LFD was assisted by a response from Wheatland Fire District, LPD, and Avista.
