Pedestrian Killed in Collision With Vehicle in Canyon County

Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal collision between a vehicle and pedestrian in southern Idaho. According to police, at 2:25 a.m. Friday, a 31-year-old man from Kuna was walking in the lane of travel eastbound on Franklin Road east of Star Road, in Canyon County. A 2006 Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound on Franklin Road and struck the pedestrian. The man succumbed to his injures at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, a 25-year-old man from Meridian, was wearing his seatbelt and was not transported. Traffic was blocked for approximately three hours allowing emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene. The incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
