A 50-year-old off-duty Marshfield firefighter was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston by medical helicopter after falling off a ladder while doing housework Wednesday. The man suffered serious injuries in the fall, which happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Pleasant Street, Marshfield Fire Chief William Hocking said.
