A fire this morning heavily damaged a popular restaurant near the Attleboro line. Heavy fire was reported about 5:10 a.m. at the Boneyard Barbecue at 540 Central Ave. near Oakhill Avenue. Fire was concentrated in the rear of the building and flames were shooting through part of the roof. Attleboro firefighters assisted at the scene and the majority of the fire was reported out shortly before 6 a.m. Firefighters were hampered by solar panels on the roof, Fire Chief Michael Healy said. Frigid conditions were also a challenge for firefighters, and water from fire hoses caused icy conditions. The town called its highway department to sand area roads.
