PHOTOS: A home in Sixteen Acres was heavily damaged early Friday when heavy winds brought a tree crashing through the roof. According to the Springfield Fire Department, the home at 57 Middlebrook Drive received extensive structural damage to the roof and walls. No one was injured. It was reported at around 2 a.m. According to city records, the home has a total assessed value of $142,000. A neighbor said the home was recently sold and the new occupants had only moved in within the last few months. The back yard is lined by several pine trees of 100 feet or more. One of them snapped in half and fell onto the house.
