The Lakeville Fire Department said they are investigating a house fire that killed a dog and several cats Friday night. Firefighters responded to a house at 30 Howland Road around 6 p.m. Authorities said upon arrival, the house was fully engulfed. The fire department said there were no hydrants in the area, so tankers had be called in and several nearby community departments assisted. The fire chief said the home is a total loss. The Red Cross is now assisting the home owners. No injuries were reported.
