When it comes to families and kids, Raymour & Flanigan is no couch potato.
The furniture and mattress store hosted its Touch-a-Truck event Saturday with a display of public safety vehicles so kids — and their parents — could get a closer look at what first responders use for transportation.
How close?
“Don’t touch any of those buttons,” West Springfield firefighter and paramedic Brendan Culver advised a youngster as he helped him get behind the wheel of a fire truck. In addition, the event featured food and vendors with visits from Santa Claus and a contingent from the New England Patriots.
"The highlight of the event was seeing the kids with Pat the Patriot and two New England Patriot cheerleaders,” said Michael Racicot, Raymour & Flanigan showroom leader.
