A woman was hospitalized after being struck by bricks that fell from a Cambridge building Friday night, according to officials. Firefighters said the bricks fell from a residential building at 55 Otis St., which is near Third Street. The woman is expected to be OK, according to officials. There has been no update on her condition as of Saturday morning. Officials did not indicate how high the bricks fell from or what part of the woman's body was struck. Acting Cambridge Fire Chief Gerard Mahoney said the owners of the building were instructed to have a mason make immediate repairs and have a structural engineer assess the situation. Residents have been allowed to remain in the building as it is being repaired and inspected. Otis and Third streets were closed to traffic. There has been no official word on whether they have been reopened.
