Getting water to fire that destroyed home was challenge, Sherborn officials say

A three-alarm fire destroyed a home Friday in Sherborn. The fire started around 7:30 a.m. at 10 Town Lyne Road.home Friday in Sherborn.The fire started around 7:30 a.m. “They went aggressively into that building to try to save it,” Fire Chief Zack Ward said. “Due to the condition of the fire and the water supply, we made the decision to pull them out.” Firefighters faced several challenges battling the blaze, the biggest was getting water to the burning home. “We had significant water supply issues, being where this is we have no pressurized fire hydrants on this street, so we had to lay a long supply line and use tankers,” Ward said. About 4,000 feet of hose was stretched to the home from a tanker truck in neighboring Millis.
