Two adults and one child suffered injuries after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Boston's Charlestown neighborhood, according to fire officials.
The Boston Fire Department said the fire started at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in a second-floor apartment at 45 Tufts St. Four rooms were engulfed in flames, but firefighters were able to contain the fire to the one unit. Five other apartments did sustain smoke and/or water damage.
The victims were transported to an area hospital by Boston Emergency Medical Services with injuries that were not considered serious, according to fire officials. They have since been released. Eight people who live in the apartment building have been displaced by the fire, as crews boarded up multiple windows on the second floor Sunday morning.
