No injuries were reported early Tuesday morning after a two-alarm fire caused extensive damage to a garage and attached home on East Buckland Road.
Fire Chief Herb Guyette told The Recorder a snowblower in the garage is the suspected cause. The fire was reported by the owner of the 146 East Buckland Road home shortly after 10 a.m. Firefighters from Buckland, Shelburne, Colrain, Charlemont, Plainfield and Heath provided mutual aid.
The fire chief said there are no fire hydrants in the area and firefighters brought water from Mohawk Regional School, about three miles away.
