Ten people who were injured after two minivans crashed into each other head-on in a Massachusetts town Thursday evening were trapped inside the cars when rescued by first responders, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to the scene of the serious multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Washington and Purchase streets in Easton shortly before 5:10 p.m. The two minivans, a Toyota and a Honda, had collided with one another head-on, according to a statement from the town’s fire department.
Easton Engine 12 arrived within five minutes and found multiple people trapped inside the two white minivans. Using hydraulic rescue tools, firefighters set to work to safely break away pieces of the vehicles. Inside one of the cars, they found eight adults with various injuries, the department’s statement said.
