The Westfield Fire Department was called to a reported house fire on 9 Union Avenue Wednesday evening that has left 12 people and two dogs without a home. The fire on Union Avenue occurred before 8 p.m. Wednesday evening. When 22News got there, firefighters were working, running hoses in and out of the house. Deputy Fire Chief Seth Ellis told 22News no one was hurt. “There are no injuries to firefighters or the civilian occupants. We did rescue two dogs. The Red Cross has been called, but obviously it’s a rough night to be out in the cold.” said Deputy Chief Ellis. Northbound traffic was diverted at the Great River Bridge to Meadow Street.
