PHOTO: A four-alarm fire ripped through a three-story Dorchester apartment building and spread to another home, leaving 16 people homeless and injuring two firefighters, officials said. Firefighters were called to 59 Wales St. at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, where they were confronted with “heavy fire,” the Boston Fire Department said via Twitter. Officials believe that the fire started on the first floor, but Boston Fire Department spokesman Brian Alkins said the fire is still under investigation. Crews climbed to the roof of a neighboring building to attack the fire from above. Two firefighters suffered minor injures and cuts. The blaze was extinguished around 2 p.m., fire officials said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
