VIDEO: For some people, it’s their job to help save lives and provide help to those in need, but unfortunately they rarely get the recognition they deserve. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week has been a way to acknowledge the work these men and women do. In Ludlow, they’ve been investing in the work that sometimes goes unnoticed behind the scenes. On Friday, these selfless dispatchers got their recognition. If you were to call 911, you’d hear someone on the other line immediately looking to help. The town of Ludlow has put some $4.8 million in updating and overhauling its radio systems and dispatch center over the past five years, an investment that’s created a sense of pride, and shown it’s worth in the results.
